How does off-record in a meeting work?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Off-record mode lets meeting participants signal that a part of the conversation should not be captured, summarized, or processed by Marzo AI—helping teams maintain privacy for sensitive topics.

How Off-Record Works

  • Anyone can activate off-record:
During a meeting, any participant can trigger “off-record” mode (using a button in the browser extension.

  • No capture, no summary:
While off-record is active, Marzo AI pauses live transcription and context capture. No notes, highlights, or summaries will be generated for that portion of the meeting.

  • Visual indicator:
Participants see a clear indicator (e.g., “Off-Record Mode: Active”) so everyone knows when off-record is enable. .

Resumes on command:

When the sensitive discussion ends, you can turn off “off-record” mode and resume normal Marzo AI capture.

Why Use Off-Record?

  • Respect privacy:
Ensure confidential or sensitive discussions are never processed by AI or saved in meeting records.

Build trust:

Gives teams full control over what is and isn’t included in meeting summaries.
